Four years ago, on May 14, 2020, Bologna mourned the death of Maestro Ezio Bosso, composer, double bass player and pianist of international renown.
In his honour, Saturday, May 11 at 19, the wonderful setting of the Basilica of San Petronio will host “I am not afraid” an extraordinary concert – taken from the String Quartet n. 2 of Bosso – that will combine classical music and a heartfelt appeal for peace.
The string orchestra Buxus Consort Strings, conducted by Relja Lukic, will be the protagonist of the evening, accompanied by a speech by Alessandro Bergonzoni on the theme of peace.
The proceeds of the evening will be donated to the humanitarian organization Emergency.
“I am not afraid”: the power of music
“I am not afraid” is a tangible tribute to the legacy of Ezio Bosso, an artist who dedicated his life to making classical music accessible to all, promoting a universal idea of music as a shared meeting place between performers and listeners.
The concert in the Basilica of San Petronio is supported by the collaboration between different institutions and the involvement of talented artists.
Not only that: the initiative of the “responsible ticket”, will allow those present to participate according to their economic possibilities, contributing to the dissemination of art and aid to humanitarian causes.
The concert is not only an isolated event but anticipates the Buxus Consort Festival in Gualtieri, a further celebration of music and its unifying power. The memory of Maestro Bosso lives in the sound of the orchestra, in the beauty of his music and in the power of sharing.
