With the arrival of June, Bologna is preparing to host the second edition of the Bologna Portici Festival, an extraordinary event that celebrates the enchanting beauty of the city’s arcades, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The dates to mark on the calendar are those between 4 and 9 June, when the city will turn into a lively and vibrant stage of cultural activities.
The arcades of Bologna
The arcades of Bologna, fascinating evidence of the past, are the focus of this unique festival.
From the medieval heart of the city, with the majestic Piazza Maggiore that stands as a monument to history, to the most modern arcades of the Boat Train, every corner of the city comes alive with the magic of art, music and culture.
The complete program promises six unforgettable days of performances, guided tours and dance performances, skillfully mixing tradition and experimentation.
The official announcement of the Bologna Portici Festival is preceded by a two-day preview (17 and 18 May), dedicated to reflection on the historical urban heritage and the exchange of best practices with other European cities.
In this regard, the Municipality of Bologna is undertaking innovative initiatives to involve the community, efforts that testify to the city’s commitment to preserve and promote its precious architectural heritage.
